Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Technical team of a food manufacturer based in Devon. The role is based on working Monday – Friday office hours & you can expect to achieve a competitive salary.
The Role:
Reporting into the Technical Manager, duties will include:
- Assist the Technical Manager with day to day technical duties i.e. ensuring schedules are met, review and amend company policies and procedures, ensure calibration of equipment etc.
- Assisting with BRC.
- Assist with the verification of production process control paperwork.
- Liaising with Production Managers, striving for continuous improvements.
- Undertake regular traceability checks to ensure documents are accurate.
- Deal with inaccurate or incomplete documents where necessary.
- Ensure that the raw material supplier approval matrix is kept up to date including, raw and finished product specifications.
- Supporting the Quality Manager to ensure good manufacturing and hygiene practices are adhered to.
- Carrying out daily, weekly, monthly due diligence checks such as temperature checks, glass and plastic audits, fabrication audits.
- Oversee microbiological sampling and internal auditing.
- Oversee non-conformances both in-house and within the supply chain and ensure corrective actions and root causes are met in allocated timescales.
- Ensure that the Technical Inventory is kept up to date on a monthly basis.
- Assisting with NPD.
The Person:
- Educated to degree standard (or similar) in a Food Science / Food Technology discipline.
- 2 years’ experience within a technical / quality role within food manufacturing.
- Knowledge / experience of HACCP, BRC, SALSA and GMP.
- Determined individual, who is keen to progress and grow with a passion for the food industry.
This role would suit a Technical Assistant / Technical Administrator / Quality Officer / QA / Quality Assure / Quality Auditor.
